![]() They are both still available on ebay in different versions for PC, xbox, and PS, though the AV8R-02 is harder to find than the other versions. Performance wise it is fine, and as I am left handed there are not a lot of other alternative joysticks available for the xbox 360. Maybe over time as the spring action loosens up this will become less of a problem. Becuase they are so light, the tightness of the spring action forces you use one hand to keep the stick under control while using it. They are both rath er large and relatively light for their size. Despite a very unhelpful Manual, cobbled from the standard Aviator product and with misleading or wrong information, I have installed it and got it to work with Microsoft FSX and Tom Clancy’s HAWX. They both share the same good and bad characteristics otherwise. Originally posted by jcpachilles: I recently bought the Saitek Aviator AV8R-02 Joystick for Xbox and PC and I am using it on my PC. The AV8R-02 is lot more comfortable in my hand and is listed in the default settings of the game which I intended to use it (Birds of Steel) where the Pacific AV8R isn't. As I have had hand surgery in the past, the diamond texture of the pistol grip of the Pacific AV8R actually caused me some pain when using it so I had to give up on it. The Pacific AV8R has a pistol grip shaped stick and the AV8R-02 has a more traditional round shaped stick. The main difference between the two are the shape of the stick. I originally bought the Damage Inc Collectors Edition which came with the game and another version of this joystick (Pacific AV8R). I bought this to use with my xbox 360 for games like Birds of Steel, etc.
